Hydronic Heating & Cooling

What is Hydronic Heating?

Hydronic heating is relatively new to Australia but has been used in Europe for a long time as one of the most effective and efficient ways to heat a home.

The design of the hydronic system is paramount to ensure the best results. With one of our co-founders hailing from Ireland, and many years experience we’ll have your design and install well in hand.

You’re in control

Combine your systems into one simple control solution, with iEnergi. We can integrate our hydronic heating solutions with Daikin’s air-conditioning and Airsmart’s indoor environment system, then add solar power for an extra eco-boost. As an industry specialist, we’re the only provider of this service; so experience it in action at our state-of-the-art showroom.

What is it?

Hydronic heating involves pumping heated water through piping laid under the floor, along baseboard heaters, or through radiators. This produces a radiant heat at an even temperature, not affected by air movement.

Very efficient gas boilers that generally have an energy rating of 95% are typically used to heat the water. Solar power can also be used for even greater savings and less impact on the environment.

A single hydronic heating system can also be used to heat existing wall-mounted panel radiators and even fixtures and accessories such as bathroom towel rails. It can hook up to a domestic hot water tank to supply hot water to the household all year long. It can even be used for swimming pool heating.

Key Benefits

Efficient

  • Maintain a comfortable temperature with minimal energy costs. Multi-zone options

In terms of which is efficient through to the most efficient we will work with you on the following options:

  • Standard Gas Boiler
  • Condensing Gas Boiler
  • Air Source Heat Pump
  • Ground Source Heat Pump ( most efficient)

Quiet

  • Keeping noise levels to a minimum is a key part of the comfort of your home

Comfortable

  • Provides consistent ambient temperature, no cold spots, no draughts. Warm floors mean warm feet, perfect for winter mornings.

Healthy

  • Great for allergy and asthma sufferers. As a radiant heat there’s no dust stirred up and it doesn’t dry the air out.

Attractive

  • It’s virtually invisible under the floor. Alternative radiator panel designs can compliment the style of the home with minimal space required.

Comfort

Traditional heating systems are designed with a forced airflow system, pushing air throughout indoor spaces, which can be noisy during operation. This action disturbs dust and circulates potential allergens in the air. This conventional means of heating may also result in uneven heat distribution.

With innovative hydronic underfloor heating from iEnergi, the natural laws of convection of warm air is put to work—from the floor, heat rises up and fills the atmosphere. Radiant heat is also distributed well in all areas of the home.

Cost Efficiency

A hydronic heat pump system may require a higher initial investment, but it is more cost efficient in the long run because of lower operating costs and all the applications for which it can be used. Heat pumps also boast of an average life expectancy of 15 years—with manufacturers and contractors offering up to 5 years warranty—thus assuring better return on investment and reliable operation.
